You can discover the richness and beauty of Liptov nature not only on the surface but also underground. Since most of the surrounding mountains are made of limestone, it is no wonder that we have many caves, gorges, abysses, rock gates and sinkholes.

The most attractive and most visited are the Demänovská Cave of Liberty and the Demänovská Ice Cave. Their formations are breathtaking. Both are part of the longest cave system in Slovakia, measuring more than 41 km. The Stanišovská Cave in Jánska valley is excellent for families with children.
